Full-Spectrum vs THC-Free CBD Gummies: How to Compare

3 min read

Full-spectrum and THC-free CBD gummies differ in their cannabinoid profile, but the spectrum name does not tell you the amount of CBD in each piece, the other ingredients, or how the product will affect you. Compare the whole formula before choosing. Neither label guarantees a negative drug test.

Start with three separate questions

First, does the product include THC? Full-spectrum products include a range of hemp compounds, including THC. A THC-free label expresses a different formulation or testing claim; review the matching batch report and its reporting limits rather than treating the wording as proof of absolute zero.

Second, how much of each cannabinoid is in one gummy? CBD, CBG and CBN need separate amounts. Third, what else is in the gummy? Sweeteners, flavors, gelling ingredients and added botanicals can differ even when the CBD amount matches.

For the broader definitions, see our full-spectrum versus broad-spectrum guide. This comparison focuses on edible pieces and package labels.

Two current Cannagea examples

Just Peachy full-spectrum gummies list 30mg CBD per gummy. The product page describes a peach flavor and 12- or 30-count packages, with trace THC in the full-spectrum extract. Check the selected package and current batch report before ordering.

Mixed Berry THC-free sleep gummies list 25mg CBD, 5mg CBG and 5mg CBN per gummy. The listing describes a broad-spectrum formula and a 12-count bag. The 25mg CBD amount is separate from the other two cannabinoids.

These are examples of different formulas, not an equal-dose experiment proving one spectrum works better. The Mixed Berry product also includes separately listed CBG and CBN. Its sleep positioning does not establish an insomnia treatment or guarantee the absence of next-day drowsiness.

Compare package totals correctly

A 12-count package of 30mg Just Peachy gummies contains 360mg of labeled CBD. A 12-count package of Mixed Berry gummies contains 300mg CBD, 60mg CBG and 60mg CBN. Keep those totals in separate columns; the Mixed Berry package does not contain 420mg of CBD.

For value, divide the selected package price by the number of gummies, then compare the formula in each piece. A CBD-only cost calculation is package price divided by total labeled CBD milligrams. That calculation does not assign a fair price to the other cannabinoids or prove better quality. Our CBD price-per-milligram guide explains the arithmetic.

Check the price after selecting the package count. A displayed starting price may refer to a different count from the one you intend to buy. Promotions and availability can change.

Ingredients may matter more than the spectrum label

The current ingredient disclosures for both examples say they contain coconut. Mixed Berry lists pectin, organic cane sugar and organic tapioca syrup among its ingredients. Just Peachy lists ingredients including tapioca syrup, sugar, fruit puree, agar and pectin. These details describe the listed recipes; they are not a blanket allergy or manufacturing guarantee.

If an ingredient is unsuitable for you, changing from full-spectrum to THC-free does not necessarily remove it. Compare the actual package with the product page and ask about any discrepancy before buying. Our pectin-versus-gelatin gummy guide covers that separate ingredient question.

Read the batch report before relying on THC wording

Match the product and batch, then check the cannabinoid results and units. A result reported per gram must be interpreted differently from milligrams per gummy. Read the laboratory’s detection or quantitation limits wherever “not detected” appears. Review only the contaminant panels actually included; a potency report alone does not establish that every possible contaminant was tested.

Use our COA reading checklist if you need help comparing the report with the package. Ask Cannagea for clarification if the linked report does not match your product or batch.

Drug testing and personal suitability

The DOT’s CBD notice warns that CBD products can lead to a positive marijuana test. A THC-free label cannot guarantee your employer’s test outcome. If a positive result would have serious consequences, avoiding cannabinoid products is the cautious option.

CBD can cause drowsiness and interact with medicines. Discuss suitability with a clinician or pharmacist and review the FDA’s CBD safety information.

Is 30mg full-spectrum stronger than 25mg THC-free?

It has 5mg more labeled CBD per piece. That does not establish a stronger effect because the rest of the formula differs.

Are THC-free gummies always CBD isolate?

No. A broad-spectrum product can contain other cannabinoids. Mixed Berry, for example, separately lists CBD, CBG and CBN.

Which should I compare first?

Start with the ingredients and THC profile you are willing and able to consider, then compare per-piece amounts and package value. Open the exact product page for its current count, price and label before checkout.
