CBD + CBG Capsules vs CBD Capsules: A Label Comparison

A CBD capsule and a CBD + CBG capsule are different formulas. Compare the separate cannabinoid amounts per capsule, then check ingredients, THC information, bottle count and batch reports. Adding CBG does not by itself establish that a product works better for a health condition.

CBD and CBD plus CBG softgel bottles beside capsules and a batch-report checklist

Cannagea sells both formats. This guide uses the confirmed per-capsule amounts for the two products below; it is a buying comparison, not a serving recommendation.

Standard CBD softgels: 25mg CBD per capsule

Cannagea THC-Free CBD Softgels list 25mg CBD per softgel in a broad-spectrum formula. They offer 30-, 60- and 90-count bottles.

At that per-capsule amount, 30 capsules contain 750mg labeled CBD; 60 contain 1,500mg; and 90 contain 2,250mg. The bottle count changes the total quantity, not the CBD amount in each capsule.

A broad-spectrum CBD product may contain additional minor cannabinoids. Do not assign a specific CBG amount unless the current label or matching report provides it.

CBD + CBG softgels: 40mg CBD and 20mg CBG per capsule

Max Relief THC-Free CBD + CBG Softgels contain 40mg CBD and 20mg CBG per capsule. Those two amounts add up to 60mg combined CBD and CBG, but the product is not a 60mg CBD capsule.

For a hypothetical 30-capsule count at those amounts, the package would contain 1,200mg CBD and 600mg CBG. Use the actual count selected on the live page when comparing package totals and price.

Compare this blend when you intentionally want both stated cannabinoids. A name such as “Max Relief” does not establish that the finished product will relieve a particular symptom.

What research can and cannot establish

CBD and CBG are different compounds. A small controlled human CBG study published in 2024 studied a specific CBG preparation in healthy adults. It was not a head-to-head trial of these Cannagea capsule products and cannot show that the combination capsule is superior to a CBD capsule.

Likewise, a larger total cannabinoid number cannot predict an individual outcome. Consider the disclosed formula, the limits of available evidence and advice about your own medicines or health conditions.

Read the complete ingredients on each product

Do not assume that two softgels have the same carrier oil, capsule shell or other ingredients. Check the current ingredient panel for the exact product and package. If an ingredient is unclear or differs between packaging and a listing, ask Cannagea to confirm it before ordering.

Coconut oil is an ingredient in some Cannagea products. That is separate from a claim about what a facility processes. Check the specific formula if you avoid coconut or another ingredient. Both ingredient and dietary preferences require more information than “THC-free” or “CBD + CBG.”

Verify THC and the batch report

Both compared products are marketed as THC-free broad-spectrum formulas. Match the bottle’s batch or lot to the certificate of analysis. Look for separate CBD and CBG results where relevant, THC findings, units, date, laboratory identity and reporting limits.

A “not detected” result applies to the test’s limits. It does not guarantee absolute zero or a negative workplace, athletic or legal drug test. The COA checklist explains how to review the information and distinguish a potency panel from contaminant testing.

Compare value using a clearly named calculation

Price per capsule equals the selected package price divided by the number of capsules. Price per CBD milligram equals that price divided by total labeled CBD in the bottle. Include shipping and any recurring-order conditions when comparing delivered cost.

For the CBD + CBG formula, a combined-cannabinoid calculation uses a different denominator. Label it explicitly as CBD plus CBG; do not compare it with CBD-only cost as though the ingredients were interchangeable. The CBD price-per-milligram guide provides a consistent comparison method.

Safety before selecting a capsule

The FDA’s CBD consumer guidance discusses drug interactions, drowsiness and liver-related risks. The FDA advises against CBD use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. CBG has less human safety research than CBD.

Ask a clinician or pharmacist about the exact product if you use medication or have a health condition. Follow the current package directions, keep products away from children and pets, and do not drive or perform safety-sensitive work if drowsy or impaired.

Choose the formula you can verify

Compare the 25mg softgel if you want a CBD-centered capsule with straightforward count-based math. Compare Max Relief if you deliberately want the confirmed 40mg CBD and 20mg CBG combination. Neither product is automatically the right choice because it has more milligrams.

Review the current capsule collection, select the intended count and check the complete ingredients and matching batch report before buying.
