THC-Free CBD Buying Guide: Oils, Gummies & Lab Reports
Updated: 3 days ago
Shopping for THC-free CBD? Start with the product's extract type, CBD amount, ingredients and batch-specific lab report. Then compare oils, gummies and capsules by how you prefer to measure or take a serving. A “THC-free” label alone does not prove absolute zero THC or guarantee a negative drug test.
This guide explains what to check before buying and compares three current Cannagea formats. Browse Cannagea's THC-free CBD collection, or use the checklist below to narrow your options.

What does THC-free CBD mean?
THC-free CBD is a label used for products intended to exclude THC, commonly made with broad-spectrum hemp extract or CBD isolate. Cannagea's site uses the term to refer to non-detectable delta-9 THC, delta-8 THC and THCA. Check which compounds the actual report tests and the laboratory's reporting limits.
Broad-spectrum CBD generally contains CBD alongside other hemp compounds, with processing intended to remove THC. CBD isolate is purified CBD used as an ingredient; a finished isolate oil or gummy still contains its carrier oil or other listed ingredients. Neither name replaces a batch-specific test. Full-spectrum products include THC and are a different shopping category.
Do not interpret “hemp-derived,” a rounded “0.00%,” or a “THC-free” badge as proof that a product contains no THC molecules. The useful evidence is a matching lab report with understandable results and limits.
Compare THC-free CBD oil, gummies and capsules
Choose a format by its practical features and ingredients. This comparison does not establish that one format treats a condition better, works faster for you, or is safe for drug testing.
Oil: for measuring a liquid amount
The 600mg broad-spectrum CBD oil listing states 600mg CBD per bottle and approximately 20mg per 1mL. Its Natural flavor lists broad-spectrum hemp extract and MCT coconut oil, and contains coconut. Check the bottle's volume markings rather than assuming every filled dropper measures exactly 1mL. Flavored options can have different ingredients.
Compare before buying: CBD per mL, selected flavor, carrier oil, bottle size and the report for that specific product and batch. Choose the concentration you can measure accurately; a larger milligram number is not automatically a better choice.
Gummies: for a flavored, pre-portioned option
Lemon-Aid broad-spectrum CBD gummies are listed at 25mg CBD per gummy. Their current ingredient list includes sugar, tapioca syrup, agar, pectin and MCT oil, and identifies coconut. Check the selected package count and ingredients instead of assuming that every THC-free gummy uses CBD isolate or the same recipe.
Compare before buying: CBD per gummy, gummies per serving, package count, sugars, allergens and other active ingredients. Keep cannabinoid gummies securely away from children and pets.
Softgels: for a pre-measured capsule
Cannagea's 25mg broad-spectrum CBD softgels are listed in 30-, 60- and 90-count options. The listed ingredients include gelatin, so they are not a vegan alternative to pectin gummies. The listing also identifies coconut.
Compare before buying: CBD per capsule, capsule count, shell ingredients and whether swallowing a capsule suits you. A pre-measured format is convenient, but its labeled amount is not a personalized dose recommendation.

Five checks for a THC-free CBD lab report
A certificate of analysis, or COA, describes the sample tested by a laboratory. Use these checks before relying on it:
Match the product and batch. Confirm the name, flavor, strength and batch or lot number. A report for another oil strength or an ingredient alone does not necessarily describe the finished item you are buying.
Read the THC entries. Look for the individual results for delta-9 THC, delta-8 THC and THCA, rather than relying only on a summary badge.
Understand the limits. “ND” usually means not detected; use the report's own definition. LOD is the detection limit and LOQ is the quantitation limit. A result below a testing limit is not proof of absolute zero. SC Labs explains that a result between its LOD and LOQ is reported as “< LOQ.”
Compare like units. A percentage, mg per gram, mg per mL and mg per package are different measurements. Check the units before comparing a result with a label.
Check which panels were actually performed. A cannabinoid-potency page alone does not establish results for pesticides, heavy metals, residual solvents or microbes. Read the available panels, dates and laboratory details.
For terminology, see SC Labs' explanation of LOD and LOQ. Our CBD COA reading guide walks through the broader report. If a matching report is unavailable or unclear, ask for clarification before purchasing rather than treating the label as verification.
Compare CBD amount and cost without mixing up units
For oil: total labeled CBD in mg ÷ bottle volume in mL = labeled CBD per mL. For example, a bottle labeled 600mg CBD in 30mL works out to 20mg per mL. That calculation describes concentration, not how much you should take.
For gummies or capsules: labeled CBD per piece × number of pieces = total labeled CBD. For example, 30 capsules labeled 25mg CBD each contain 750mg labeled CBD in the package. Do not substitute the total hemp-extract weight or add CBG and CBN milligrams to the CBD amount.
For value: product price ÷ total labeled CBD in mg = price per mg of CBD. Use our CBD price-per-mg calculator to compare the options you selected. Cost per mg is one measure; ingredients, report quality, package size and a format you can use accurately also matter.
Can THC-free CBD cause a positive drug test?
A THC-free label does not guarantee a negative result. The U.S. Department of Transportation's CBD notice warns that CBD products may contain more THC than their labels state and that CBD use can lead to a positive drug test. Under DOT rules, saying that you used CBD is not an accepted medical explanation for a confirmed marijuana-positive result.
If passing a drug test is essential, avoiding cannabinoid products is the most cautious choice. Do not use broad-spectrum, isolate, “ND,” or “0.00%” wording as a promise of test safety. Consult the relevant testing policy and a qualified professional about your circumstances.
Safety questions before you buy
Removing THC does not remove CBD's risks. The FDA's CBD consumer information identifies possible liver injury, medication interactions and drowsiness. Combining CBD with alcohol or sedating drugs can increase sedation. Discuss CBD with a healthcare professional, especially if you take medication or have a medical condition.
The retail products compared here are not FDA-approved treatments for pain, anxiety, insomnia or other diseases. This buying guide compares labels and formats; it does not prescribe a dose or promise a health result. Check the current shipping policy for destination restrictions before ordering.
THC-free CBD buying questions
Are all THC-free CBD gummies made with isolate?
No. The Lemon-Aid gummies reviewed here list broad-spectrum hemp-derived cannabinoids. Other products may use isolate or blends. Read the specific formula rather than assuming all gummies use the same extract.
Is a higher-strength CBD oil better value?
It may have a lower price per mg, but check the actual price and CBD amount for the selected option. A stronger concentration also changes how much CBD is in each mL. Choose a concentration you can measure accurately and discuss appropriate use with your healthcare professional.
Does a COA guarantee a product will work for me?
No. It provides test results for a sample. It does not establish a health benefit, predict your response or guarantee a negative drug test.
What should I check first when ordering?
Confirm the selected extract type and format, CBD amount, full ingredient list and a matching batch report. Then compare package count or volume, total price and shipping eligibility. View Cannagea's current THC-free oils, gummies and capsules.
