CBG Oil vs Capsules: Amounts, Ingredients and Value

CBG oil and CBG-containing capsules are not necessarily the same formula in different packaging. Cannagea’s 1000mg oil uses CBG isolate, while its THC-free Max Relief softgels combine CBD and CBG. Choose the formula first, then decide whether measured liquid or a fixed capsule suits your preferences.

What the current labels say

The 1000mg CBG isolate oil lists approximately 33mg CBG per 1mL, about 30 one-milliliter servings and MCT coconut oil as the carrier. Its ingredient list names fractionated coconut oil and CBG isolate, and states that it contains coconut.

The THC-free Max Relief softgels list 40mg CBD and 20mg CBG per capsule. The capsule shell lists gelatin, glycerin and water. Review the complete current ingredient list if a carrier ingredient or dietary restriction matters to you.

The comparison is therefore CBG isolate in liquid form versus a CBD-plus-CBG blend in a softgel. A softgel containing 60mg combined cannabinoids is not a 60mg CBG capsule.

Compare amounts using the same unit

The oil’s bottle total and per-milliliter amount answer different questions. About 33mg per mL tells you the labeled concentration; 1000mg tells you the total CBG in the bottle. Rounded per-serving numbers may not multiply to the exact bottle total.

For capsules, multiply the per-capsule amount by the count you actually select. If a selected package contains 30 capsules at 20mg CBG each, it contains 600mg labeled CBG. Its separate CBD total is 30 × 40mg, or 1200mg. This is label arithmetic, not a recommendation to take any particular amount.

A one-milliliter measure of the oil and one Max Relief capsule do not match in CBG amount, and the capsule adds CBD. Do not swap them one-for-one on the assumption that the format is the only difference.

Liquid measuring versus a whole softgel

Oil suits a shopper who wants a liquid and can consistently read the dropper’s volume markings. Check what the markings measure; one squeezed dropper is not automatically one full milliliter. Keep the bottle label with the product rather than relying on a remembered concentration.

A softgel removes the dropper step and provides a fixed labeled amount per whole piece. That can simplify tracking and packing, but it does not give the same measuring flexibility as a marked liquid volume. Do not assume that opening or dividing a softgel produces an accurately measured smaller amount.

For a broader comparison of CBD formats, see CBD oil versus capsules. For CBG-specific liquid measurement, see how to take and measure CBG oil.

Ingredients and THC are separate decisions

The CBG oil contains coconut. The Max Relief shell contains gelatin, so a shopper avoiding gelatin should account for that before choosing the capsule. “Isolate,” “broad-spectrum” and “softgel” do not describe the entire ingredient list.

Both products in this comparison are marketed as THC-free. Treat that as a claim to check against the current product-specific batch report, including THC results and reporting limits. Neither format guarantees a negative drug test. Do not infer the THC profile of a different Max Relief variant from the THC-free listing.

Compare value without mixing cannabinoids

For the oil, divide the current bottle price by its labeled 1000mg CBG total. For a selected capsule package, divide its price by the package’s CBG total. Keep the additional CBD amount visible alongside that calculation.

Neither calculation allocates the price between CBD and CBG in a blend. It would be misleading to claim that a blended product provides cheaper CBG solely by adding CBD milligrams to the denominator. Also compare the number of units, ingredients, lab documentation and whether you want that particular blend.

Use the CBD price and label-math guide for the method, substituting the named cannabinoid you are comparing. Recalculate from the selected product option rather than an old sale price.

What evidence cannot decide for you

A 2024 controlled CBG study involved 34 healthy adults and a particular 20mg CBG preparation. It was not a comparison of Cannagea’s oil with Max Relief capsules. It cannot establish that either retail product is more effective, faster, or better for a particular medical condition.

CBD safety concerns include medicine interactions and possible liver injury. Review the FDA’s CBD information and discuss a CBD-containing blend with your clinician or pharmacist. Limited evidence about another cannabinoid is not proof that it is risk-free.

Is the oil a CBD-and-CBG blend?

The cited 1000mg product lists CBG isolate and MCT coconut oil. Max Relief is the CBD-and-CBG blend in this comparison.

Can I combine the oil and capsules?

Combining products changes your total exposure. Do not stack them automatically; bring both labels to a qualified clinician if you are considering a combination.

What should I check before ordering?

Confirm the exact formula, selected count, per-unit amounts, complete ingredients and matching lab report. Then compare the CBG collection using those same criteria.
